World Peace?!?

To quote the band, Dealership, "If you believe in peace on earth then you're dumb..."

Since I'm a strong believer that there will never, in our lifetime or any other, be "World Peace," I think we should strive for World Compromise.

Imagine 5 of your closest friends sitting in a room together. Can all 5 of you agree on a simple thing such as the best flavor of ice cream? Probably not. How on earth can we expect people from all cultures, all religions and all walks of life to agree on what is the perfect world for them? I don't want to say that it's all hopeless and that we should just give up, but perhaps we can focus our efforts on figuring out a way to compromise, to live and let live. I have absolutely no idea how to achieve this.

As a nanny, I strive for compromise every single day...to keep a 5-year old, an 18-month old, a 4-month old and myself (a 35-year old) happy - or at least just neutral. I suppose it all starts at home.

It's a conundrum, however, because in order to get everyone in the world to follow my plan, they'll all have to agree to it, and I just don't see that happening.

For now, I'll just be content to see the world through eyes of Mika; clear and peaceful.
